Springtime at The Compound

Letting some pictures speak thousands of words:

The girls and my mostly disastrous hammock-making attempt.

Clearing up after dinner tonight.

The pergola insane with wisteria. It smells divine.

Okay, just a couple more garden shots. The carrot/potato/onion/cucumber bed. Cukes will vine over this old iron headboard we found.

If you look closely (click on the picture to make it bigger), you can see little tomato plants next to all those big stakes and inside the cages. BD saw this for the first time and said "That's optimism."

Easter business.

Last but certainly not least, Somerset on the zipline. That's my nephew standing on the new "treehouse" platform and my Dad walking underneath.

I love that after dinner scene, that is so lovely.

And, those tomato plants will surprise you! We plant grape and cherry tomato plants in bucket planters every year and they really do get as big as the wire cages. They just grow and grow. The headboard in the garden looks a little creepy right now though, I have to say. I'm sure it'll look a lot less like a buried relative once the cucumbers grow on it.

Connor asks every day if we can go to your house and play on the zipline. He now sees your backyard as a public park.

Yeah, it will look less like a headstone when it's all covered with greenery. Stephanie, bring him on over.
